GGNIMT Celebrates Maa Boli Diwas with Great Zeal and Enthusiasm
Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT) situated at Ghumar Mandi celebrated International Mother Tongue Day (Maa Boli Diwas) with immense pride and cultural fervour, reaffirming its commitment to preserving and promoting the richness of mother tongues.
Ludhiana, February 21, 2026: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT) situated at Ghumar Mandi celebrated International Mother Tongue Day (Maa Boli Diwas) with immense pride and cultural fervour, reaffirming its commitment to preserving and promoting the richness of mother tongues. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 60 students from across the technical streams of education, including those Business Management, Computer Applications, Hotel Management and Fashion Design who came together to honour the beauty, identity, and emotional strength rooted in their native language.
The celebration featured a series of engaging competitions including Declamation, Painted Poster Making, E-Poster Making, and Poem Recitation. Participants eloquently expressed their thoughts on meaningful themes such as “Meri Maa Boli,” “Solutions to Social Problems,” and “Respect for Mother Tongue.” Through powerful speeches, creative artwork, and heartfelt poetry, students highlighted how language shapes culture, values, and national identity.
The campus resonated with expressive words and vibrant colours as students showcased their creativity and deep emotional connection with their mother tongue. The event not only encouraged linguistic pride but also inspired young minds to become ambassadors of cultural heritage.
On this occasion, Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT reflected on the importance of language in shaping an individual’s identity. He remarked, “Mother tongue is not merely a medium of communication; it is the soul of our culture and the foundation of our thoughts. When we preserve our language, we preserve our history, traditions, and collective wisdom. Institutions like ours must take the lead in nurturing respect for our Maa Boli among the younger generation.”
Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT also addressed the gathering and emphasized the role of educational institutions in strengthening linguistic values. He stated, “Language connects generations and builds emotional bonds within society. Celebrating Maa Boli Diwas reminds us that progress and modern education should go hand in hand with cultural preservation. Our mother tongue gives us confidence, roots, and identity.” He appreciated the active participation of students and faculty members in making the event meaningful and impactful.
