Gang of vehicle lifters busted, four members arrested

SSP says all the vehicles had been stolen from the nearby villages

Ferozepur: Tightening the noose of the bike lifters in this border district, the Ferozepur Police today arrested four persons in this connection and recovered 27 two-wheelers which they had stolen from various places.
SSP Bhagirath Singh Meena while divulging details said that following the specific inputs, the police nabbed the four members of vehicle lifters gang including Manpreet Singh (27), Harpreet Singh (24), Daljeet Singh alias Matti (23) and Anup Singh alias Anupa (25) from Village Jhoke Harihar. Later after the interrogation, 27 two-wheelers (25 motorcycle and two Activa scooter) were recovered on the basis of information provided by them.
 
The SSP said that a case has been registered against them at Kulgarhi police station under sections 379, 411 IPC (FIR Number 21 Dated 09.03.2021).
 
SSP further said that the accused Manpreet Singh, a resident of Village Amarkot in Tarn Taran district, has already been booked under NDPS Act and theft cases. “The other accused Daljit Singh was also booked under Mining case at Village Ilmewala at Arif ke police station.


 
SSP said that the all these vehicles had been stolen from the nearby villages. “All the accused are drug addicts aged between 20  to 25 years. They all used to steal the two wheelers and sell them to customers at very low price ranging from Rs. 3000/- to 5000/- only “, he further added.
