G20 Youth International Seminar on two themes

The Panjab University in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports organized the G20 Youth International Seminar today on two themes, “Future Of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation And 21st Century Skills” and “Shared Future: Youth In Democracy And Governance".

Chandigarh, March 4, 2023: The Panjab University in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports organized the G20 Youth International Seminar today on two themes, “Future Of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation And 21st Century Skills” and “Shared Future: Youth In Democracy And Governance". Banwari Lal Purohit, Governor, Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh in his inaugural address encouraged the students to work for the welfare of the society to make India a ‘Vishavguru’ again. Giving examples from his real life experiences, he asserted that time management is very important and youth of the country has a potential to take country to the new heights.

The Guest of Honour Justice Sabina, Chief Justice, Himachal Pradesh High Court in her address said that “Once the youth has responsibility and opportunity, success story is a foregone conclusion.”

Meeta Rajivlochan, Secretary to Govt. of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports in her speech stated that today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders and how Universities are the breeding ground for startups.

Dr. Madhumita Kothari, Senior Advisor, United Nation International Seabed Authority highlighted the potential of Seabed for future research. She further encouraged the students to conduct research on marine resources as India has a rich resource base in the Seabed.

Earlier, Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, PU in her welcome address traced the historical evolution of industrial revolution and shared that how the future of India lies in innovation and inter disciplinary research.

Satyapal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India and Senior PU Fellows, while remembering his long association with Panjab University, firstly as a student then as a fellow, inspired the students by stating that the future of India lies in its youth and they should work with dedication and honesty for the nation.

Dr. Jyoti Rattan, Nodal Coordinator, G-20 Programme highlighted the theme of the conference and how various affiliated colleges, regional centres and departments of Panjab University worked collectively to make this event a success.

Many renowned academicians including Prof Douglas Lecorchick, Fairmont University, North Carolina, Assoc. Prof Nakamura Kazuho, Yokohama National University, Japan along with the officials from Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, fellows, faculty members, Senior PU officials, researchers and students were present on the occasion.
