Hyderabad, March 2, 2024: The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) organised a full-day MSME Conclave on Saturday at Hotel Radisson Blu, Hyderabad.
 
M M Pallam Raju, Former Union Cabinet Minister of HRD & Former Minister of State for Defense, Govt. of India was the chief guest and. Dr E Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC), Govt. of Telangana was the guest of honour.
 

Dr. G. Malsur, Director of Industries, Govt. of Telangana; Meela Jayadev, President, FTCCI; Premchand Kankaria, Chairman of Banking Finance& Insurance Committee of FTCCI; Manju Sharma, GM, State Bank of India, Hyderabad; Srinivas Garimella, Managing Director, Daifuku Intralogistics India Pvt. Ltd graced the inaugural function.

 
Speaking on the occasion MM Palla Raju said that we are living in an integrated world. So, it matters the most the way we look after workers and keep the working environment. Our country is a young nation with 65% of the population below 35 years. So we must create hope for this generation by creating a conducive work environment, he said and added that we must remain competitive to catch up with our mighty neighbour China.
 
“We must aim for a system in the future where we don’t need any more incentives and handholding of MSMEs, the former Union Minister added.  The MSMEs in our country, unlike those claimed by a previous speaker, are not looked down on”, Pallam Raju added.
 
Dr E Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, TSIIC said good days have come for MSMEs. The new government accords a top priority to this sector. The government is so firm that if any major policy decisions are made, they will be first about MSMEs.
 
Telangana is well known for the Aerospace and pharmaceutical industries because of its healthy MSME ecosystem and its support. The government is proposing to strengthen the State Finance Corporation. The government is also focusing on skilling and towards this direction 65 ITIs in the state are upgraded as advanced technology centers. Their target is to train 10,000 ITIs in the next year and one lakh in the next few years, the TSIIC top official said
 
The Government wants to create 100 Champion MSMEs (Global Export Champions) who not only serve the state where they are located but serve the world by exporting their products. Telangana Govt aims to create 100 Global Export Champion MSMEs, Dr E Vishnu Vardhan Reddy added
 
MSMEs are the backbone of the economic development of the country. MSMEs contribute significantly. The 6.03 Crore MSMEs in India generate 11cr employment and nearly 54% in rural areas. 49% of MSMEs are not getting formal credit. Rs 27 trillion credit gap exists. The state is a hotbed for six lakh plus MSMEs, said Dr G Malsur, Director of Industries, Govt of Telangana. He suggested MSMEs spend on R&D. He suggested that FTCCI should start an MSME cell. The government alone can’t help, so we need organizations like FTCCI to come forward. 
 
Manju Sharma, GM, State Bank of India, Hyderabad explained their initiatives such as  MSME intensive branches, special start-up branches etc which support MSMEs. SBI will be a partner in your progress, she added.
 
The MSME Conclave is a congregation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and their stakeholders.  It will discuss issues, share best practices and explore growth opportunities, Meela Jayadev, President of FTCCI said.  MSMEs get stepmotherly treatment, he lamented.
 
The theme of the conclave was MSME Spark Building a Strong Economy. It focused on Innovation, Invention and Integration shared by Premchand Kankaria, Chairman, Banking, Finance & Insurance Committee.
 
Talks and speaker sessions were held on subjects of great importance to MSMEs.  Some of them include Creative Packaging Strategies, Embracing Digital Strategies, Financial tools, future-proofing businesses etc.
 
Over 200 participants participated in the Conclave.
