From Ramp to Reel: Preet Dutta’s New Flight

Mumbai (Anil Bedag): Walking the ramp with confidence, posing effortlessly in front of the camera, and carving a distinct identity in the fashion world, Preet Dutta is now stepping into a new and challenging phase of her career. Having participated in over 200 fashion shows, ramp walks, fashion weeks, and numerous modelling events, Preet is all set to begin her new innings as an actress on the big screen. This journey is not merely about a model turning actress—it is the story of an artist who has shaped her dreams with hard work, patience, and unwavering self-belief.
While consistently making her mark in the modelling industry, Preet Dutta has proven through print campaigns, calendars, and magazine shoots that she is not just a beautiful face, but a strong and confident performer. With recognition at both national and international levels, she now aims to expand her creative horizon through acting and reach a wider audience.
Her debut Bengali film is set to release soon. The shooting is almost complete, and the project is currently in its post-production stage. Alongside this, Preet is preparing for her Bollywood entry and wishes to begin this new journey through films, short films, and web series.

Preet’s inclination towards acting began early in life. Hailing from a Kolkata background, her grandfather had worked as an editor on films by the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray. He often introduced her to the technical nuances of cinema and encouraged her to understand the craft. Occasionally, Preet also participated in child artist dubbing and small scenes, which gradually drew her closer to the world of acting. Initially, her family was hesitant about her becoming an actress. However, when she secured a place among the top five models and her name and photographs appeared in leading publications like The Times of India, their faith in her talent grew stronger.

When it comes to acting inspiration, Preet Dutta deeply admires actress Sushmita Sen. She is a fan of filmmakers such as Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Anurag Basu, Imtiaz Ali, Karan Johar, and Aditya Dhar, and dreams of working in their films someday. She is particularly drawn to strong roles with grey shades. Priyanka Chopra’s performance in Mary Kom and Kangana Ranaut’s powerful portrayal in Fashion have left a lasting impact on her. Preet believes that if given similarly challenging roles, she can bring them alive on screen with her own depth, strength, and individuality.
Honoured with the title Queen of Bengal, Preet Dutta today stands as a symbol of self-reliance, courage, and independent thinking. Her message to the youth is equally powerful—believe in yourself, never make decisions under pressure, and move forward with self-respect and confidence towards your dreams.

Preet Dutta is no longer just a successful model or an emerging actress; she represents confidence, perseverance, and free-spirited ambition—qualities that clearly indicate her potential to become a strong and impactful actress in the times to come.
