Football-sized cancerous Facial Tumor weighing 4.5 kg removed in 10-hour surgery at Fortis Escorts Okhla; giving Kyrgyz patient a new lease of life

Chandigarh, December 2, 2025: In a rare and challenging medical case, Doctors at Fortis Escorts Okhla, New Delhi successfully performed a complex life-saving surgery on a 48-year-old man from Kyrgyzstan. The patient was presented at the hospital with 4.5 kgs foul smelling cancerous tumour (extra-skeletal osteosarcoma) measuring 19 x 18 cms, hanging from the right side of his face. The growth was so large that he had to physically support it with his hands and was forced to travel in isolation during the air travel due to the intense foul smell.
