Filmfare successfully hosted the Filmfare OTT Awards 2025 Co-Powered by Hyundai & Blenders Pride Packaged Drinking Water, on December 15, 2025, at the JW Marriott, Juhu. This year’s edition brought together the brightest stars, creators, and storytellers for an evening that celebrated the evolution of digital entertainment in India. The awards ceremony honoured outstanding achievements in web original series and films released between August 1, 2024, and July 31, 2025. Among the top winners of the evening, Black Warrant won Best Series, while Girls Will Be Girls took home the award for Best Film, Web Original. The comedy segment witnessed Raat Jawaan Hai being named Best Comedy (Series/Specials), spotlighting the extraordinary creativity that shaped the year and raised the bar for stories told on streaming platforms.
Emerging as the evening’s top winners, Khauf led with 7 awards, followed by Stolen and Black Warrant with 6 awards each. Paatal Lok Season 2 swept 5 awards, while Girls Will Be Girls secured 4 awards. Sector 36 and CTRL won 3 awards each, and Freedom at Midnight and IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack took home 2 awards each. The night also witnessed notable individual wins, with Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhishek Banerjee, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Vikrant Massey, Ananya Panday, Boman Irani taking home the coveted Black Lady, alongside key technical winners including Pankaj Kumar, Tanya Chhabria, and Bigyna Dahal. Together, these accolades highlighted the industry’s relentless pursuit of quality and artistic excellence, reinforcing the strength and evolution of India’s OTT ecosystem.
The evening was also marked by several warm and heartfelt moments alongside the formal honours. Abhishek Bachchan drew applause when he brought a chair from the audience onto the stage for Boman Irani and recorded his acceptance speech on his personal phone, setting the tone for an emotional highlight as Boman Irani delivered a moving speech, reflecting on the power of conviction, storytelling, and how cinema can inspire connection, healing, and love beyond the screen. Jaideep Ahlawat delivered a deeply moving acceptance speech, dedicating his award to his late father and sharing how he believes his father continues to watch over him, drawing an emotional response from the audience. Abhishek Banerjee, while accepting his honour, expressed how he is constantly inspired by Amitabh Bachchan. He recalled how he committed to the project ‘Stolen’ even before the lockdown, driven by belief in the story, and spoke of the joy of arriving straight from a shoot to receive the award. Another standout moment came when Ananya Panday, upon receiving her award, spoke about women embracing their individuality and choices, sharing how the honour reaffirmed her belief in owning one’s voice and path. Vikrant Massey’s acceptance speech resonated deeply as he dedicated his win to voices from socio-economic margins, pledging to continue representing stories that deserve to be heard. The evening also marked significant personal milestones, with Fatima Sana Shaikh winning her first Filmfare Award for Ayesha and Rasika Dugal receiving her first Filmfare Award for Shekhar Home, making the night a memorable celebration of talent, purpose, and impactful storytelling.
The star-studded event saw the presence of some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, including Alia Bhatt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vicky Kaushal, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Anu Malik, Pratibha Ranta, Surveen Chawla, Adinath Kothari, Abhishek Banerjee, Richa Chadha, Zoya Akhtar, Meiyang Chang, Alaya F, Divya Dutta, Aditi Pohankar, Bhagyashree, Zahan Kapoor, Sonali Kulkarni, Shalini Passi, Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, and many more, adding glamour and grandeur to an unforgettable night.
The winners were selected by a distinguished jury comprising some of the most respected voices in Indian cinema and digital storytelling, including Alankrita Srivastava, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Amit Masurkar, Anvita Dutt, Devashish Makhija, Hansal Mehta, Jaskunwar Kohli, Jasmeet Reen, Juhi Chaturvedi, Nikhil Mahajan, Prosit Roy, Rahul Chittella, Ramesh Taurani, Shoojit Sircar, Suresh Triveni, and Vishnuvardhan.
This year also marked the continuation of the celebrated Filmfare Short Film Awards 2025, honouring exceptional creativity in short-format storytelling. Winning titles included Divorce, Ayesha, and Langur, along with individual honours for Renuka Shahane, Fatima Sana Shaikh, among others, reaffirming the bold and inventive spirit of India’s new wave of storytellers, especially within the short-format space. The celebration unfolded across two dynamic segments, hosted by Amol Parashar and Sayani Gupta, whose charm and wit kept the audience engaged and the energy high right through the final award.
