Ferozepur police recovered 11 kg heroin worth Rs.55 crores

Ferozepur: In two separate cases, the police have arrested four persons and have recovered 11 kg heroin worth Rs. 55 crores. 

Bhagirath Singh Meena, SSP Ferozepur while addressing the media persons said the police had received inputs that the accused identified as Jagdish Singh alias Kali (40), a resident of Village Gatti Rajo ke has links with the Pakistani smugglers and is involved in illegal trade of drugs. 

“Following the inputs a trap was laid by the police and the accused was nabbed near Village Madhre on August 3 while he was coming on a bike (PB 05 AS 5851). During the checking 20 gram heroin was recovered from him. A case under 21, 29, 61, 85 NDPS Act was registered against him at Sadar Police station (FIR No. 122 Dated 03.08.21).

The SSP said that during the interrogation, the accused admitted that he had links with Pakistani smugglers. “As per the information provided by the accused the police carried out a joint search operation with 136 Battalion of BSF and recovered near BOP Ullo ke during which 600 gram heroin was recovered which was wrapped in a yellow packet. Today another search operation was carried out following information provided by the accused near BOP Muhammadi Wala during which 10 Kg heroin was recovered near border pillar number 183/2 in gate number 183. The consignment was wrapped in yellow plastic packet and was concealed beneath the grass”, said SSP. 

Notably, the estimated price of the total consignment recovered during the two operations is 55 crores. 

The SSP said that the accused Jagdish has been booked under NDPS case on April 26 this year Sadar police station following the recovery of 6.630 Kg heroin. 

In another case, the police has booked five persons including one women and have recovered 500 gram heroin and one car from them. The accused has been identified as Rani, her son Sagar, Chhinderpal Singh, Sandip Kumar and Wilson. The SSP said the police has arrested Chhinderpal, Sandip and Wilson while the two accused will be nabbed soon./(August 11)
