Rohtak, June 10, 2026: MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia on Wednesday urged students preparing for officer-level entry into the Indian Armed Forces to cultivate fearlessness, courage and self-confidence, calling these traits the bedrock of success.

Speaking at the Youth Centre for Skill Development for All Services, Prof. Punia said challenges should motivate rather than deter aspirants, and that determination combined with confidence paves the way to achievement. “Fearlessness, courage and self-confidence are the real keys to success. Those who confront challenges with conviction and positivity are the ones who eventually achieve their goals,” he said while interacting with students preparing for Armed Forces recruitment. Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal accompanied him.

Highlighting the strengths of rural candidates, the Vice-Chancellor urged youth from villages not to underestimate themselves because of limited resources. He said a rural upbringing often fosters resilience, patience and the ability to persevere—qualities essential for leadership and success.

VC Prof. Punia described a career in the Indian Armed Forces & Para Military Forces as both a profession and a noble form of national service. He advised aspirants to prepare holistically—mentally, psychologically and physically—while honing discipline, commitment and leadership skills. He also stressed the importance of a regular study routine and a positive mindset, and answered students’ questions on preparation and career prospects.

Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal reiterated the need for perseverance, patience and clarity of purpose, urging students to use their time productively. YCSD Project Director Prof. Shalini Singh, Director Public Relations Sunit Mukherjee, Chief Consultant Brig. Harbir Singh, Director CCPC Prof. Divya Malhan, Deputy DSW Prof. Sonu, Director Youth Welfare Dr. Pratap Rathi were also present.
