Farmer Gursewak Singh from Manawarpur who brought moong dal to the grain market while welcoming the state government's decision to procure this crop on MSP said that Ludhiana Administration has made fool-proof arrangements in grain markets to buy our crops. He shared his joyous feeling as he was able to sell his crop higher than MSP rate which was fixed as Rs. 7,275 by the state government.

Another farmer Gurvinder Singh from Tare Wala village said that he felt extremely happy with the state government's decision to buy moong dal on MSP as today he sells his crop at Jagraon Mandi at a price higher than the fixed MSP. He said that this move would go a long way in ensuring farmers' welfare and breaking the conventional crop cycle thereby helping water preservation in the state. Like, Gursewak and Gurwinder, many moong cultivators lauded the state government's decision to roll out MSP on this crop besides hailing District Administration  Ludhiana for putting a vast mechanism in place to carry out this mammoth task.

Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Surabhi Malik meanwhile taking stock of the ongoing moong procurement asked the procurement agencies to leave no stone unturned to assist farmers by ensuring the swift purchase of their produce. She said that just like wheat and paddy procurement, the elaborate arrangements have been made in Mandis to procure moong dal.

Pointing out further, District Manager Market Sunil kumar said that all the agencies are procuring moong crops as per specifications fixed by the government. He said that MSP of Rs. 7,275 has also been announced by the government to purchase moong dal. The DM also issued contact numbers of Markfed officials where farmers can get more information in case they face any kind of trouble in selling their crops. He said that farmers can contact Purchase Inspector Satnam Singh, Branch Manager Jaswant Singh, and Manager CMS Gurmeet Singh for any kind of information on this matter.

The DM reiterated his commitment to assisting farmers besides ensuring procurement of every single grain brought by them in the Mandis. He also added that no stone would be left unturned to facilitate farmers during the entire procurement season as it was already been done during the wheat procurement.
