Jalandhar, October 28, 2026: Reaffirming the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to the welfare and well-being of its veterans, Vajra Corps, under the aegis of Western Command, is organising the Punjab State Ex-Servicemen Rally 2026 at Dholewal Military Complex, Ludhiana, on 01 November 2026, from 0800 to 1600 hrs. The mega event aims to honour the invaluable contribution of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their families while providing a comprehensive platform for welfare assistance, healthcare, employment opportunities and administrative support.
The rally reflects the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to its veteran fraternity, reinforcing the principle that the bond between a soldier and the organisation remains unbroken long after retirement. Bringing together representatives of military, government and civil agencies, the event seeks to provide accessible, coordinated and meaningful assistance to veterans and their dependants across Punjab.
A major highlight of the rally will be four dedicated welfare and assistance camps (Shivirs), designed to address the diverse requirements of the ex-servicemen community.
Sampark Shivir will facilitate direct interaction with representatives of Record Offices, Zila Sainik Boards and the Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO). The camp will provide guidance on service-related documentation, welfare entitlements and other administrative concerns, enabling veterans and their families to engage directly with the relevant agencies.
Sanjeevani Shivir will focus on healthcare and medical welfare through health check-ups, consultations with medical specialists and assistance related to the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS). The initiative aims to promote preventive healthcare while facilitating access to medical guidance and available benefits.
Rojgar Shivir will focus on employment, resettlement and second-career opportunities. Representatives from industry, the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV) and the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) will provide information and guidance on professional opportunities and post-retirement career avenues.
Sahuliyat Shivir will bring together representatives of the civil administration, police, banking institutions and Aadhaar-related services to facilitate administrative assistance and address documentation-related requirements of veterans and their families.
Beyond these welfare initiatives, the rally will feature cultural programmes, a raffle and arrangements for lunch and refreshments, providing an opportunity for veterans to reconnect with former comrades, share experiences and celebrate the enduring spirit of military camaraderie.
The initiative also underscores the importance of civil-military cooperation and institutional synergy in ensuring that the concerns of the veteran community receive timely attention. By bringing multiple service providers together at one venue, Vajra Corps, under Western Command, aims to simplify access to welfare services and strengthen the support network available to ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependants.
The rally is envisioned not merely as a welfare event, but as a celebration of service, sacrifice and the lifelong bond between the Indian Army and its veterans. It serves as a reminder that those who have dedicated their lives to safeguarding the Nation will always remain an integral part of the military fraternity.
Vajra Corps, under the aegis of Western Command, extends a warm invitation to ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their families from across Punjab to participate in this landmark gathering and avail themselves of the various welfare, healthcare, employment and administrative assistance facilities.
