Jalandhar, October 19, 2022: The Department of Business Management of DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar organised an Expert Talk  on GST (Goods and Services Tax) today.


Puneet Oberoi, a renowned Chartered Accountant was the speaker of the day. By considering the importance of GST, DAVIET organised this event for the students.                  

Dr. Sudhir Sharma, Principal, appreciated the Department of Business Management for organizing this event for the benefit of the students. Dr. Anil Soni, HOD, Business Management, gave a floral welcome to Mr. Puneet Oberoi.

CA. Punnet Oberoi is a Secretary General of “The Income Tax and GST Consultants Forum”, a body of professionals for knowledge dissemination and representation of critical issues. He has delivered more than 450 hours of Lectures on GST and other Economic matters at various platforms of department and Trade/Industry at various locations across the country. He is also President of Democratic Council, an NGO to protect the fundamental rights of the citizens of India which actively contributes in the areas of anti-corruption and RTI. He is also a member of JAYCEES in Jalandhar and has been awarded Kamal Patra Award by Jaycees for his outstanding contribution in his profession. 

CA Puneet Oberoi discussed various aspects of GST. He threw light on origin of GST along with the earlier tax structure. He discussed salient features and benefits of GST.  He talked about various components of GST in detail.  He specifically discussed IGST mechanism.

As many as 300 students participated in this Expert Talk. All got benefit of his vast experience.
