EUNOIA 2026 begins at Panjab University with vibrant literary and cultural events
The Department of English and Cultural Studies, Panjab University (PU), commenced its annual literary fest Eunoia 2026 with day one that brought together students, faculty, and participants from various institutions.
Chandigarh, March 18, 2026: The Department of English and Cultural Studies, Panjab University (PU), commenced its annual literary fest Eunoia 2026 with day one that brought together students, faculty, and participants from various institutions.
The event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting by Chairperson Prof. Meenu A. Gupta, Dr. Swatie, Dr. Jaidev Bishnoi, and Dr. Sumandeep Kaur, marking the formal opening of the fest. The ceremony was followed by Saraswati Vandana performed by students followed by PU anthem.
In her inaugural address, Prof. Meenu A. Gupta emphasised the importance of organizing extracurricular activities that foster creativity, collaboration, and intellectual exchange. She noted that such platforms enable students from different universities and colleges to come together through their shared passion for literature and cultural expression.
Dr. Sumandeep Kaur, Organizing Secretary of Eunoia, highlighted the student-led nature of the fest and elaborated on the meaning of the term “Eunoia,” reflecting the spirit of goodwill, creativity, and intellectual engagement that the festival seeks to promote.
The first day of the fest featured a series of lively and competitive events, including a Literary Quiz, Pictionary, and a Musical Evening. The Literary Quiz witnessed enthusiastic participation, with Urvi and Nishtha from the Department of English and Cultural Studies, Panjab University, emerging as winners. The Pictionary competition also saw active engagement.
A key highlight of Day 1 was the Musical Evening, which provided a vibrant and energetic conclusion to the day’s events.
The fest has attracted participation from students across various departments of Panjab University, as well as from colleges and universities beyond the campus.
The Day 2 of Eunoia on March 19 promises an exciting lineup of events, including Extempore, Literary Antakshari, Magic Bowl, Word Nerds, and Sham-e-Nazam, a poetry night that will offer a platform for poetic expression and creative performances.
The concluding days of the fest, Day 3 and Day 4, will feature the Department’s annual theatre production, Dead Poets Society, showcasing the dramatic talents of students and bringing a celebrated literary narrative to the stage.
