Empowering Punjab’s Youngpreneurs with Monthly Innovation Challenge in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, June 30, 2022: Innovation Mission Punjab (IMPunjab), a unique private-public partnership that aims to build, empower and act as a catalyst for local startup communities in Punjab, conducted an open idea pitch challenge at the co-working space MySoho, Timber Market, Sector 26  in the city today. The challenge was a part of IMPunjab’s Monthly Innovation Challenge being organized to build a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship and support innovative ideas and founders from Punjab.
 
Over 30+ students attended on the day to present their ideas through an open idea pitch challenge by submitting an idea deck or pitch tape of their idea. They were shortlisted based on their originality, innovativeness, commercial viability, feasibility, and business model and presented to the appointed jury at MySoho.
 
The jury consisted of a mix of Entreprenuers& startup enablers from the ecosystem including SomveerAnand - CEO & Mission Director, Punjab; Abhishek Purohit - Head, Accelerator, IMPunjab&Ritika Singh - Kontent Factory &Satyendra Singh from TBI-iRise, IISER, Tushar Mittal - Cofounder, MySoho.
 
Saswat Pattnaik (Primls - Security Systems), Rajat Soni (Vecrep - Garage platform), & Sujan Kample (Drone based traffic management) were the winners of the open idea challenge. The three winners received a prize of 10K each, along with an opportunity to connect with the startup ecosystem to help bring their idea into reality .A special cash prize of Rs 10K was awarded to Aditi (Gas leakage prevention platform) as a budding ‘women entrepreneur’.
 
Talking about the challenge, Somveer Anand - CEO & Mission Director, IMPunjab, “IMPunjab’s MIC was organized in Chandigarh this time providing budding Youngpreneurs a platform where they can present their ideas and learn from the stakeholders as well as get incentivised. The event was attended by more than 50 youngpreneuers who presented their ideas. Punjab indeed is a pool of talented people and we as an organization want to provide a platform where they can learn and grow to become the future unicorns from Punjab.
