Educational trip to Forest Research Institute, Dehradun
Jalandhar, November 24, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organized a 4 day educational trip for the graduate and postgraduate students under the DBT Star College Scheme. The trip was organized by the Post Graduate Department of Zoology. During the trip, students visited Forest Research Institute, Dehradun and also explored four museums namely Silviculture, Entomology, Forest Pathology and Timber Museum. The students also visited Dehradun Zoo and also explored various animals and birds. On the last day of the trip the magical landscape of Jim Corbett National Park located in the Ramnagar district of Uttrakhand. Students explored hills, marshy depression, riverine belts, grasslands lakes and various animals during their jeep safari. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such type of visits are must for students of any stream as these trips enrich learning experiences and they also leave a lasting impression on the minds of the students. She further maintained that educational trips give chance to the students to build closer bond with their classmates and to experience new environments. She lauded the efforts of the PG Department of Zoology for organizing this educational trip.
