E-Fest Bonna fete-2021 organised by Lyallpur Khalsa College

Jalandhar: E-Fest Bonna fete-2021 was organised by Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar today. Various fun-filled and colourful activities including an e-Concert, Virtual Dance Party, Live Tambola, Online Mind Games were organised to refresh the minds of online audience and participants. 

The inaugural function was presided by  Ms Gurjot Kaur (College Alumni). While honoring her, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra applauded and appreciated her for the achievements and contributions towards Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat. At the same time, he applauded the organizers of the fete. Appreciating them, he said that this is an innovative initiation to beat the heat of the pandemic by entertaining students on the platform of virtual mode. Adding to it, he said that the e-event would definitely foster camaraderie and a sense of community amongst the students and teachers of our institution. He further said that such an event will go a long way in lifting the spirits of the LKC fraternity in this difficult pandemic time. The second event was a musical concert organised by the Post Graduate Department of Music.

This event was presided by the young correspondent Ms Bharti Sharma. She is honored as an exemplary front warriors for her contributions in the field of media in the time of pandemic. Apart from various departmental activities, live online Tambola was conducted to refresh the players. The surprise of the fete was a Bhagra presentation by the Principal Dr G.S. Samra and senior teaching staff. This moment was captivating and fun-filled for the college staff as well as for the online audience. Another feature of Bonne Fete was in-house online sale of goods curated and crafted by the students of the college. The purpose was to hone the skills of the students. Finally, the closing ceremony of Bonne Fete was attended by an eminent Punjabi poet from Bombay and an alumnus of the college Mr. Shiv Dutt Aks. While being nostalgic about his student days, Mr. Aks enchanted the audience with his beautifully sung poem. Lucky Draw was also drawn in which five winners were declared and congratulated by the principal of the college. The three departments were also awarded with the title for entertaining the students: 'The Most Sought After' went to the Computer Science and IT Department. ‘The Most Innovative Concept’ goes to the Post Graduate Department of English and 'The Most Colorful and Fun-Filled Meet’ was given to the P.G Department of Chemistry. At last, but not the least, Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Dean Academic Affairs of the college. She thanked Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Prof. Manmeet Sodhi (Coordinator of the fete), the entire management team, guests and students for organising and being part of Bonne Fete 2021. Stage on this occasion was managed by Dr. Surinder Pal Mand while Dr. Daljit Kaur was the technical moderator of this fete
