DRV DAV Centenary Public School Phillaur Celebrates Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

Jalandhar, August 15, 2026: The Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026, being observed from August 9 -17, along with the third phase of the commemoration of 150 years of the National Song “Vande Mataram”, was celebrated under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in collaboration with CBSE. In keeping with the spirit of these national initiatives, DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur organised a special Independence Day celebration with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.
The special assembly featured the soulful rendition of “Vande Mataram”, followed by an explanation of its meaning and significance. A thought-provoking speech on the importance of Independence Day by Satish Kumar reminded students of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and the value of the freedom we enjoy today. The students also took a pledge to serve the nation with sincerity, responsibility and dedication.
The cultural programme began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal, Dr. Yogesh Gambhir.. The Tricolour fluttering proudly on the school premises filled the atmosphere with patriotic pride and served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters.
The cultural presentations further enhanced the patriotic spirit of the occasion. Students delivered inspiring speeches on “How Children Can Serve Their Country”. The spirit of patriotism came alive through a powerful choreography portraying the valour and sacrifice of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. A spectacular dance performance depicting the bravery and indomitable spirit of Rani Lakshmi Bai further inspired the audience. A melodious patriotic song added to the patriotic fervour of the celebration.
Adding to the patriotic fervour, the students of the school proudly represented at the Tehsil-Level Independence Day Celebration held at Government Boys Senior Secondary School, Phillaur, showcasing their talent and patriotic spirit with great pride and enthusiasm.Students powerfully showcased the valour, bravery and indomitable courage of Rani Lakshmi Bai, leaving the audience deeply inspired and earning widespread appreciation and applause for their impressive performance.
Principal, Dr. Yogesh Gambhir stated that Independence Day is not merely a day to celebrate, but an occasion to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, cherish our freedom and reaffirm our commitment to building a stronger and better India.
