Chandigarh based academician and author, Dr. Amneet Gill who teaches History in Panjab University, Chandigarh participated in a webinar organized by United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization, Paris on ‘Charting Lifelong Learning Journeys: Unleashing Opportunities through qualification & skill recognition’ on 27 September.
Chandigarh, September 28, 2023: Chandigarh based academician and author, Dr. Amneet Gill who teaches History in Panjab University, Chandigarh participated in a webinar organized by United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization, Paris on ‘Charting Lifelong Learning Journeys: Unleashing Opportunities through qualification & skill recognition’ on 27 September.
Dr. Amneet shared about India’s National Education Policy which she described as relevant, futuristic, incentivizes innovation, critical thinking, is multi-disciplinary in approach and consolidates real learning. She stressed that the Indo centric vision of education imparted is not restricted to achieving academic success of pupils but aims at holistic development.
Dr. Amneet added that the policy encourages interesting credit based courses, skill based learning along with the introduction of value added courses which Panjab University, Chandigarh where she is teaching has successfully introduced. She highlighted that the policy will equip India to take advantage of its young demographic divide. The integration of humanities with STEM envisaged in this policy will augment creativity, heterogeneity of curricula and positive learning outcomes.
