Dr. Gurcharan Kaur Kochar and Manjit Rai conferred with ‘Kewal Vig Award-2022’

Noted Punjabi Ghazals poet Dr. Gurcharan Kaur Kochar and and English and Punjabi prose writer Manjit Rai USA were felicitated ‘Kewal Vig Award-2022’ for their devoted and sincere contributions in painting vivid pictures of social concerns as Best Poet and Best Writer respectively.

Jalandhar, December 5, 2022: Noted Punjabi Ghazals poet Dr. Gurcharan Kaur Kochar and English and Punjabi prose writer Manjit Rai USA were felicitated ‘Kewal Vig Award-2022’ for their devoted and sincere contributions in painting vivid pictures of social concerns as Best Poet and Best Writer respectively.

On the 30th anniversary of Journalist Kewal Vig, the award function was held at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall here. Noted Singer Bhai Harjinder Singh, Ranjit Singh, Amit and Rehana Bhatti presented devotional  and literary songs, Ghazal Singers Sunil Kumar Sharma, Akshey Bhatia and Surinder Gulshan presented Ghazals of Dr. Gurcharan Kaur Kochar.

Former IG and AAP  MLA from Amritsar North Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh was the Chief  Guest, he paid homage to Kewal Vig and said he provided right direction and thinking to the society through his pen. He appealed to the youth of the state life line goals can be achieved with mother tongue. Former Ambassador Ramesh Chander, who was special Guest, said Kewal Vig was far sighted journalist, BJP Kissan Morcha Leader Satnam Bitta paid homage to Kewal Vig calling him a great personality whose anniversaries are important to be celebrated every year as award function. 

Chetan Singh Director Language Department, Punjab Retd., Dr. Jagdish Chander Joshi Principal Retd., Om Parkash Khemkarni Ex member Press Council of India, Rajinder Gill Ex Councillor, Jaspal Singh Kapoor Ex Councillor and Kamal Sehgal Ex-President Distt. Youth Congress were present. 

Jatinder Mohan Vig, Chairman of Kewal Vig Foundation welcomed the guests and said that 61 Literary Personalities had already been recipient of this award so far.
