Chandigarh, December 15, 2022: In the recently concluded three-day International Conference of Medical Arthropodology on “Control of Malaria and Other Vector-Borne & Zoonotic Diseases: Challenges and Opportunities in Implementation Research” organised by the Department of Zoology, Osmania University, Hyderabad, Telangana State held from 12-14th December, 2022, Dr. Deepak Kumar Goyal of Department of Zoology, Panjab University, Chandigarh was conferred with SOMA Young Scientist Award. 

This award is issued to a young researcher for innovative work and Dr Goyal has done excellent research to develop the vaccine against leishmaniasis by using some novel adjuvants. He has been awarded many other awards for best presentations at different conferences. He has done PhD under Prof. Sukhbir Kaur in the parasitology laboratory of Dept. of Zoology, Panjab University, Chandigarh. He has published many international research articles in reputed journals and currently working as an Assistant Professor (Guest Faculty) in the Department of Zoology, PU, Chandigarh.
