Dr. Aarti from Anatomy Department attends 14th International Conference of the Society of Clinical Anatomists as Distinguished Panelist

Rohtak, April 16, 2026: The Department of Anatomy at PGIMS, Rohtak has brought international recognition to the institution by demonstrating excellence in academics and research. At the 14th International Conference of the Society of Clinical Anatomists, held in Jaipur, the department secured two prestigious Best Paper Presentation awards, reaffirming its commitment to high-quality research. The conference witnessed participation from over 900 national and international delegates, reflecting its wide academic significance.

During the conference, Dr. Aarti from the department was invited as a distinguished panelist in a special discussion on “Future of Anatomy as a Career.” She received this recognition for her notable contributions in innovative anatomy teaching, integration of virtual dissection techniques, and incorporation of clinical correlations into undergraduate and postgraduate curricula. In the panel discussion, she presented insightful perspectives on AI-based anatomy teaching modules, evolving trends in medical education, emerging career opportunities, and the new CBME curriculum of the NMC, which were widely appreciated by international experts.

In the research category, Dr. Kamal Singh and Dr. Suman Yadav were honored with the Best Oral/Poster Presentation awards. Dr. Kamal Singh’s study, titled “Effectiveness and Student Perception of Image-Based MCQs versus Traditional MCQs in Formative Assessment in Anatomy,” emphasized the utility of modern assessment strategies. Meanwhile, Dr. Suman Yadav’s research, “Knowledge, Perception, and Ethical Awareness Regarding Artificial Intelligence in Medical Education and Healthcare,” addressed emerging technological challenges and ethical considerations.

Congratulating the department, Vice-Chancellor of Pt. B. D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Dr. H.K. Aggarwal extended his best wishes to the HoD Dr. S. K. Rathee and all faculty members. He said that such achievements elevate the academic reputation of the university at the global level and reflect its strong research-oriented culture. He emphasized that when faculty members are invited as expert panelists and win best paper awards internationally, it clearly demonstrates the presence of world-class academic work at PGIMS.

VC Dr. Aggarwal further remarked that a strong foundation in anatomy is essential for building competent clinicians. Participation in international conferences exposes faculty to the latest teaching methodologies and research trends, ultimately benefiting MBBS and postgraduate students. He described this achievement as inspirational for the entire institution.

Director Dr. S. K. Singhal also congratulated the department and noted that clinical anatomy today forms the backbone of personalized medicine and minimally invasive surgery.

Registrar Dr. Roop Singh said that the university administration consistently promotes research and academic innovation across departments. He remarked that the Best Paper Awards are not merely accolades but a validation of the quality of research by international experts, which will enhance the global acceptance of publications from PGIMS. He also acknowledged Dr. Aarti’s contribution to the panel discussion, emphasizing the importance of such dialogues in shaping national perspectives on career opportunities in anatomy.

HoD Dr. S. K. Rathee expressed gratitude to the university administration for its support and reiterated that the department aims to teach anatomy not just as a basic science but in close integration with clinical practice. The three-day conference also featured workshops on virtual anatomy, 3D printing, radiological anatomy, and surgical anatomy, in which the PGIMS delegation actively participated.
