DMC&H Observes National Pharmacovigilance Week 2025
The Department of Pharmacology, DMC&H, concluded the observance of National Pharmacovigilance Week (17th–23rd September 2025) today under the theme, “Your Safety, Just a Click Away: Report to PvPI.” The week-long campaign aimed to sensitize healthcare professionals to actively report Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) and promote a culture of patient safety.

Ludhiana, September 23, 2025: The Department of Pharmacology, DMC&H, concluded the observance of National Pharmacovigilance Week (17th–23rd September 2025) today under the theme, “Your Safety, Just a Click Away: Report to PvPI.” The week-long campaign aimed to sensitize healthcare professionals to actively report Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) and promote a culture of patient safety.
As part of the campaign, MBBS Batch 2022 students visited all Clinical OPD areas to interact with consultants and residents to spread awareness about pharmacovigilance and its role in ensuring safer healthcare.
Bipin Gupta, Secreatary, DMC&H Managing Society lauded the efforts of the team for observing this week as Pharmacovigilance is a shared responsibility. Every healthcare professional’s vigilance contributes directly to patient safety.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology & Dean Academics DMC&H said, “Awareness about pharmacovigilance is the first step towards patient safety. Encouraging doctors and students to report adverse drug reactions ensures safer healthcare for all.”
Dr. Kanchan Gupta, Professor of Pharmacology, conducted a sensitization workshop for nursing students at College of Nursing and Dr. Bharti Mahajan along with Dr. Shalini Arora, Professors of Pharmacology, organized awareness sessions for paramedical students. Both initiatives emphasized the critical importance of reporting ADRs promptly.
