DMC&H launches fortnightly eye screening camps to enhance eye care services
DMC&H has expanded its eye care services by launching a new initiative —a fortnightly eye screening camp for retina and glaucoma which will be held on 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. These camps will offer a comprehensive screening services, aiming at early detection and prevention of vision loss due to glaucoma and various retinal diseases like diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration and retinal detachment. It is worth mentioning here that these diseases often remain asymptomatic until advanced stages and need routine screening for their detection.

DMC&H is also pleased to announce the appointment of virto- retina and Uvea specialist Dr Pallavi Singh. She has done her MS ophthalmology from PGIMER, Chandigarh and pursued VR fellowship from the prestigious Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.She has vast experience in managing various medical and surgical retina diseases.
Bipin Gupta, Secretary of the DMC&H Managing Society and Dr. G.S. Wander, Principal DMCH, congratulated Dr. Pallavi Singh on her appointment to the institute.
Speaking on the occasion, Bipin Gupta, Secretary DMC&H Managing Society, emphasised that our goal is provide the best eye care facilities to the general public. With these screening camps we will be enabled to reach more people in need of specialized care.

Dr Gurvinder Kaur, Professor & Head Department of Eye, DMC&H said that the Eye Department at DMC&H has state of the art facilities to provide the best eye care at affordable cost for all the eye diseases. She stressed that every individual should get a routine eye checkup atleast 6 monthly to detect eye diseases at an early stage. She is hopeful that the fortnightly screening camps for retina and glaucoma will help in raising awareness regarding these diseases and go a long way in avoiding preventable blindness.
