DMCH, College of Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing Department celebrated National Safe Motherhood Day, 2023 at Antenatal OPD of Civil Hospital, Ludhiana.

DMCH, College of Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing Department celebrated National Safe Motherhood Day, 2023 at Antenatal OPD of Civil Hospital, Ludhiana. The event was started with a warm welcome of dignitaries and audience by Savita, Assistant Professor.
The Chief Guest was Dr. Deepika Goyal, Senior Medical officer, MCH unit. Dr. Triza Jiwan, Principal focused on the importance of women’s health, in particular, the four pillars of safe motherhood. Prof.Nidhi Sagar unfolded the theme “Remain at home amid coronavirus, protect mother and infant safe from coronavirus." She emphasized that our aim is to raise awareness of good healthcare and safety of all expecting mothers and newborns.

Prof. Sandeep Kaur and Prof. Bindu K also graced the occasion with their presence.

Dr. Deepika Goyal lauded the efforts of DMCH College of Nursing for conducting this event. The students of B.Sc. (N) 4th yr enacted a role play on how a woman should care for herself during pregnancy. They also displayed charts and models on care before pregnancy, during pregnancy and after pregnancy. M.Sc. (N) students prepared the different stations related to antenatal and postnatal diet.

The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Neha Singla and Simranpal. Overall it was very informative for the general population.
