DMC Alumni Meet held with academic feast and nostalgic moments

Ludhiana, December 25, 2022: Annual DMC Alumni Meet 2022 ‘Lamhe…the nostalgic imprints’ was held, in Hotel Nirvana, which was attended by more than 300 alumni of DMCH. The day began with a Guest lecture held in Dumra Auditorium delivered by Dr VK Sharma, Professor & head, School of medical sciences & research and former  HOD, Dermatology, AIIMS, New Delhi, on ‘Cutaneous manifestations in malignancies and connective tissue disease’.

A Felicitation programme was also held at DMC College Campus for Golden Jubilee and Silver Jubilee batches. This year Golden Jubilee Batch 1970, 1971, 1972 and Silver Jubilee Batch 1995, 1996 and 1997 were participated the meet.

Secretary of DMCH Managing Society Prem Kumar Gupta was the chief guest for the event. Other dignitaries who were present on the occasion were  Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Vice-Principal Dr G S Wander, Dean Academics Dr Sandeep Kaushal and Medical Supdts. Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary, Dr Bishav Mohan and  Dr Sandeep Sharma.

During the programme, a mobile App “My Alumni Network” was also launched by Secretary DMCH Managing Society, Sh Prem Kumar Gupta, where all the alumni can connect through a virtual platform. After the programme hospital and campus round was taken by all the alumni and they were amazed to see the remarkable developments in Hospital’s infrastructure and modern facilities and services available to the patients of DMCH under one roof.

The highlight of the meet was the Cultural Extravaganza which was held late in the evening in Hotel Nirvana, which was organized by DMC Alumni Committee.

Chairperson of DMC Alumni Committee-Dr Puneet Aulakh Pooni (Professor & Head Department of Pediatrics, DMCH) extended warm welcome to all the alumni and dignitaries present on the occasion. 

Principal, Dr Sandeep Puri said that DMC Alumni Meet is like a home coming function for all the alumni, who had spent fruitful years of their life in making their professional career.    

Co-ordinator of alumni committee- Dr Suman Puri (Professor & Unit Head Obst.& Gynae DMCH) expressed her joy and congratulated  all the alumni who made themselves available for this get together.

The whole proceedings of the Alumni Meet was very impressively conducted by Convener of DMC Alumni Committee -Dr Shibba Takkar Chhabra (Professor, Deptt. of Cardiology, HDHI) along with Dr Hitant Vohra (HOD, Deptt. of Anatony) and Dr Amninder Singh (Associate Professor, Deptt. of Pathology). Dr Shibba along with few other faculty members marvelously compared a show in the evening to make all alumni present there danced to old and new foot-tapping songs. 

Secretary of DMC Alumni Committee- Dr Dinesh Jain (Professor, Deptt. of Medicine) proposed a vote of thanks to all the alumni present on the occasion and assure that in future, more such programs will be organized to further strengthen the bonding of all alumni of DMCH.
