Rohtak, September 4, 2025: District Magistrate and Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority Rohtak, Sachin Gupta, has exercised powers vested under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, and ordered closure of all government and private schools as well as Anganwadi centres in the district till further orders.
According to the orders issued by District Magistrate Sachin Gupta, citizens are advised to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel. They are also advised to avoid river banks, vulnerable bridges, drains, and low-lying areas. Citizens have been asked to contact the District Flood Control Room on phone number 01262-230401 for any flood-related situation or assistance.
As per the order, officials/employees of Municipal Corporation/Committees, Irrigation Department, PWD (B&R), HSVP, and PHED will remain on high alert for relief work and will carry out cleaning of drains, removal of flood water, and protection of embankments with full preparedness.
For emergency and health services management, the Health Department will deploy mobile medical units in vulnerable villages. Police, fire services, and civil defense volunteers will remain alert for evacuation and rescue operations. The orders stated that on the basis of the report of District Education Officer Rohtak and in view of continuous rainfall and rising water levels in rivers and drains, a flood-like situation has arisen in the district. Considering water logging in low-lying areas, disruption of traffic, and danger to public safety, these orders have been issued.
