Rohtak, February 5, 2026: The imbalances in male-female relationships felt very vivid; on Thursday, at the mini auditorium of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts. These imbalances were brought live on stage by the students of the Acting Department of DLC SUPVA through the performance of the play 'Adhe-Adhure'. The stage setting and scene work were executed by the students themselves. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya, Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha, and other staff appreciated the performance.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya said that the students appeared to be fully immersed in their roles in the play. A special set was prepared in the mini auditorium for the staging of this play so that the lights and other atmosphere could reflect the story of the play. VC Dr. Arya said that the university's effort here is to train and educate such skilled performers who can, in the future, make a name for themselves and for Haryana both nationally and internationally. Therefore, they are being provided with opportunities to practice on sets similar to those used in big films.
Film and Television Department FC Mahesh TP said that, celebrating the birth centenary of the famous playwright and writer Mohan Rakesh, the widely acclaimed play 'Aadhe-Adhure' written by him was staged. The conceptualization and direction were done by Prof. Vibhanshu Vaibhav. Prince played the role of Mahendra Nath, Pushkar played the role of Jagmohan, and Bharti played the role of Savitri. The play 'Aadhe-Adhure' highlighted the inequities in male-female relationships and also showed that our ambitions are what make our lives incomplete. In the pursuit of maintaining a household, we lose our own existence, and the family falls apart. Relationships become strained, and all of this was witnessed in 'Aadhe-Adhure'.
