DLC SUPVA: 10-Year Institutional Development Plan gets Approval at EC Meeting; MoUs to be signed with industries for student placements

Rohtak, March 20, 2026: The Executive Council (EC) of the Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak, has approved the agenda aimed at enhancing various facilities within the university. During the EC meeting, the university's Institutional Development Plan (IDP) for the upcoming 10 years received official approval. Formulated in accordance with the provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the IDP outlines a strategy to leverage research and technology to further elevate educational standards, while also establishing mechanisms for student placements through the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with various industries.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya said that, with a view to fostering the growth of the higher education sector, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed all institutions to formulate their respective Institutional Development Plans. This will enable the university to take advantage of every situation and opportunity that can strengthen it further. He explained that SUPVA's IDP incorporates provisions to adopt research and technology as means to enhance academic benchmarks and elevate educational standards, thereby encouraging industry-academia linkages, knowledge dissemination, and research initiatives within the education sector. Describing the IDP as a comprehensive roadmap for SUPVA, he noted that it would enable the university to effectively address current educational challenges while simultaneously anticipating and preparing for future challenges.

VC Dr. Arya further added that higher education has rapidly expanded globally. This indicates that further improvements should be made in it. With a focus on fostering intellectual development as well as economic and social progress through education, the expansion plan encompasses several key objectives. These include augmenting infrastructure, increasing the number of studios and enhancing the facilities within them, further strengthening the administrative setup, and upgrading lab facilities to a more advanced level.

Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha outlined the key points incorporated into the IDP. These primarily include providing students with excellent governance and quality education; forging partnerships with other institutions and enhancing community engagement to establish a global identity; transforming the university campus into a "Green Campus"; undertaking special initiatives for digital transformation; and signing MoUs with industries to facilitate student placements.
