Divi Bijesh Shines Again at the Asian Youth Rapid Chess Championship 2025
In yet another remarkable achievement, Kerala’s young chess star Divi Bijesh, a 10-year-old and a native of Thiruvananthapuram, has emerged champion at the Asian Youth Rapid Chess Championship 2025 held in Thailand. Competing in the Under-10 Girls category, Divi secured 6 points from seven rounds, reaffirming her dominance on the international stage.
Thiruvananthapuram, November 23, 2025: In yet another remarkable achievement, Kerala’s young chess star Divi Bijesh, a 10-year-old and a native of Thiruvananthapuram, has emerged champion at the Asian Youth Rapid Chess Championship 2025 held in Thailand. Competing in the Under-10 Girls category, Divi secured 6 points from seven rounds, reaffirming her dominance on the international stage.
This victory marks Divi’s second major title in a week. She had earlier won the Under-12 Girls title at the Commonwealth Chess Championship 2025, held last week.
The year 2025 has been extraordinary for Divi. She became the World Cup U-10 Girls Champion, World Cadet Rapid Champion, World Cadet Blitz Vice Champion, and World Schools Chess Vice Champion. With over 75 medals to her credit, Divi is also Kerala’s youngest Woman Candidate Master (WCM) and holds the distinction of being India’s first U-10 Girls World Cup Champion. Divi is a fifth-grade student at Alan Feldman Public School in Kazhakkoottam, Trivandrum.
