Rohtak, May 18, 2026: In a major public convenience initiative aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and improving access to affordable public transport, Haryana Roadways, Rohtak, will commence a direct daily bus service between Rohtak and Shimla from May 19, 2026.

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta welcomed the initiative, describing it as a significant public-friendly step that will greatly benefit passengers from Rohtak and surrounding areas by providing seamless and direct connectivity to the capital city of Himachal Pradesh.

He said the launch of the direct service reflects continued efforts to improve public transport infrastructure and expand citizen-centric mobility options.

“This direct bus service to Shimla will offer substantial convenience to the public, especially tourists, students, employees and regular travellers who frequently commute on this route. Strengthening affordable and reliable public transport remains an important public service priority,” said the Deputy Commissioner.

According to the schedule, the direct Haryana Roadways bus service will begin operations from May 19, 2026, and will run daily from Rohtak to Shimla via Chandigarh and Kalka. The bus will depart from the Rohtak Bus Stand at 10:05 AM every day, while the return service from Shimla to Rohtak will commence at 7:00 AM the following morning.  The route will cover an approximate distance of 373 kilometres, and the fare has been fixed at ₹581 per passenger.

The Deputy Commissioner said the service is expected to provide significant ease of travel for a wide section of passengers, including those travelling for tourism, education, employment, official work and family visits.

He added that Haryana Roadways continues to strengthen public transport services in the larger public interest, and similar citizen-centric initiatives aimed at improving connectivity will continue to be encouraged.

The new service is expected to particularly benefit residents of Rohtak and nearby districts seeking a convenient, economical and direct transport option to one of North India’s most popular destinations.
