Dips IMT organised seminar on leadership skills

Jalandhar: DIPS IMT’s airline and tourism department organised a seminar on leadership and skill enhancement. The main speaker was Akash Thakur head of operation of tourism and hotel management department from royal College Meerut. Akash Thakur addressed the students and told them about multinational companies and their competitions with other private companies. In this scenario of competition only that person can be successful who is not only a great skill oriented person but also has leadership skills. It is a leader who carries on the task efficiently and leads from the front as a team leaders. Work of the whole company rests on the shoulders of a leader.

An efficient leader has exceptionally good communication skills and an organised style of working and inspire others to lead a successful career.

Principal remarked that unless the youth of today understand the true meaning of leadership, till then a person cannot become an efficient leader. To bring about change in society good leaders are a must to fulfill any mission. It is essential to change the mindset of people and together make the desired changes, the art is called leadership.

CEO opinion was that leadership is not a trait but a combination of many multifarious traits and all these can be developed with passion. A good leader has self-confidence, networking, excellent communication skills, management skills and to inspire and encourage everyone.
