Rohtak, May 15, 2025: The Faculty of Design at DLC SUPVA witnessed an impressive showcase of creativity and innovation as students from various disciplines presented their semester-long projects during the even semester Jury evaluations. In all the departments- Product Design, Fashion & Lifestyle Design, and Textile & Fashion Design, the jury commenced on 15th May and will continue until 5th June 2025.

This rigorous evaluation process offers students a platform to demonstrate their conceptual depth, technical proficiency, and creative problem-solving abilities before a distinguished panel comprising faculty members, industry experts, and observers.

Under the mentorship of Satish Ranga, Head of Fashion & Lifestyle Design, students explored themes like surface ornamentation, hand-knitting, design processes, and non-woven techniques. Their meticulously crafted products included handbags, curtains, bed sheets, pillows, jewellery, footwear, garments, and dressing tables. The collections beautifully blended contemporary fashion sensibilities with traditional Indian design aesthetics, celebrating the nation’s rich cultural heritage.

Each submission was assessed for originality, craftsmanship, innovation, and marketability. Notably, the external examiner, Anand Mani Vajpayee, Consultant Designer for GEM Portal, Government of India, conducted the evaluation, offering valuable insights to the budding designers.

In the Product Design Department, sixth-semester students exhibited functional and aesthetically pleasing prototypes of household utility products, including bar tables, sofas, custom furniture, and decorative items. Their projects reflected extensive work in modules like packaging design, innovation strategies, human comfort design, communication design, and overall design strategy.

Dr. Chirag Rajan remarked that the Jury Examination is a cornerstone of our academic framework, providing students with a real-world platform to present their work to industry experts. We are optimistic that these young designers will leave a significant mark on the design industry.

Faculty Coordinator Dr. Shelly Khanna added, "Our focus is not only on the aesthetic and functional aspects of student projects but also on sustainability and market feasibility. By incorporating feedback from seasoned professionals, the Jury aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, fostering both professional readiness and academic excellence among students."
