Department of Statistics, PU Holds Two-Day Workshop on Personality Development and Soft Skills
The Panjab University (PU) Department of Statistics, in collaboration with the Central Placement Cell, organized a two-day workshop on Personality Development and Soft Skills on January 28 and 29, 2026. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Meena Sharma, Honorary Director, Central Placement Cell, who emphasized the role of communication, confidence, and leadership skills in students’ overall professional growth.
Chandigarh, January 30, 2026: The Panjab University (PU) Department of Statistics, in collaboration with the Central Placement Cell, organized a two-day workshop on Personality Development and Soft Skills on January 28 and 29, 2026. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Meena Sharma, Honorary Director, Central Placement Cell, who emphasized the role of communication, confidence, and leadership skills in students’ overall professional growth.
On the first day, sessions were conducted by Sahil Arora on effective resume writing and Dr. Amandeep Kahlon on communication skills. The speakers highlighted key aspects of resume structuring, interview-oriented presentation, clarity of speech, body language, and confidence building essential for career readiness.
The second day featured sessions by Dr. Manvinder Kaur on personality development and Mr. Ishwar Sandhu on interview preparation. The sessions focused on self-discipline, goal setting, interpersonal skills, stress management, and strategies to create a positive impression during interviews.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Narinder Kumar, Chairperson, Department of Statistics, who appreciated the support of the Central Placement Cell, resource persons, faculty, and students for the successful conduct of the programme.
