Demand for high-security registration plate rises on JD Mart by 400 per cent: JD Mart Consumer Insights

New Delhi, February 24, 2022: As state governments across the country make high-security registration plates (HSRP) mandatory for all vehicles, demand for number plates on JD Mart rises by 400% with Delhi seeing maximum demand, reports the latest JD Mart Consumer Insights.

The increase in demand for HSRP is in line with the fact the state governments have introduced steep fines for vehicle owners if they fail to comply with the regulations. HSRP was the top searched automobile spare parts on JD Mart, India’s latest B2B platform by Just Dial, in the last three months.

Besides HSRP, the other top-5 searched automobile spare parts or components on JD Mart were GPS trackers, disc brakes, LED fog lamps, and car batteries. Overall YoY demand for auto components and spare parts on JD Mart grew by 39% across the country. The demand in Tier-I cities grew by 41% and in Tier-II by 27%.

Commenting on the trend on JD Mart, Mr. Prasun Kumar, CMO, Just Dial, said: “We are delighted to witness that search for automotive components is now happening online. The market has been highly fragmented, but JD Mart has been successful in aggregating the industry online, linking it appropriately with the demand, and offering every player a level playing field. We have already matched the suppliers with demand in Tier-I and the growth figures in Tier-II are encouraging as well. The industry that is estimated to be around Rs.3.4 lakh crore is expected to witness double-digit growth this year and JD Mart will be a catalyst in this.”
