Two snatchers were arrested for robbing a man in the national capital while the latter was on his way to his home in the city's Dabri area, a police official said on Sunday.

New Delhi, July 10 (IANS) Two snatchers were arrested for robbing a man in the national capital while the latter was on his way to his home in the city's Dabri area, a police official said on Sunday.

The accused identified as Satbir alias Shanki and Md. Nasim were both notorious criminals of their area.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), M. Harsh Wardhan said a PCR call was received regarding the robbery in Dabri police station on Saturday after which the local police reached the spot at Mahindra Park, Dabri, and met the complainant. 

The complainant said that at 9:15 p.m. on July 7, while he was returning to his house, two unidentified youth came and choked his neck and forcefully robbed him of two mobile phones, a bag containing cash, and some documents and clothes.

Following the incident, the police registered an FIR under section 392 (robbery) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code at the Dabri police station.

During investigation, the police received a tip-off on Saturday (July 9) that two persons, who were previously involved in several cases of robbery and theft, are roaming on a motorcycle with the intention to commit a crime again and can be nabbed from Talab Wala Park, Dabri.

The police laid down a trap at Talab Wala Park, Dabri, and two persons, Satbir and Md Nasim, along with a motorcycle were apprehended by the police team.

Upon police interrogation, robbed mobile phones and a bag of the complainant were also recovered.
