Declamation and Quiz Contest on G-20 organized at Home Science College

Chandigarh, March 9, 2023: With its inclusive approach and people-centric agenda, India under its G-20 presidency has taken multiple initiatives to strengthen and promote the digital transformation both in India as well as abroad. Keeping in mind the ongoing digital transformation around the world, the declamation contest was organized on the theme of “Digital Innovations and Initiatives of India”. 

Students presented their views on the various digital initiatives taken by Government of India such as “Stay Safe Online Campaign” , G-20 Digital Innovation Alliance” etc. They also emphasized that through the digital gateways of Unified Payment Interface (UPI), RuPay, and Aadhaar, India has created an ecosystem of transferring the benefits directly to the beneficiaries. In a similar vein, Quiz Contest was also organized on the theme of ‘G-20 and its Significance’. The rationale of the quiz was to make students aware about the strategies and plans laid by India under its G-20 presidency. The quiz questions were also intended to make students familiar with the efforts put in by G-20 group in fostering harmony and peace for advancement and development.

The Principal of the College, Prof. Sudha Katyal, talked about the tremendous progress made by India in creating a mechanism for digital payments in various government and non-government organizations. She also encouraged the students to come out of their cocoon and participate wholeheartedly in the events organized by the college.
