DC urges farmers to bring only dry paddy to Mandis

Ludhiana, August 21, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, during a meeting with commission agents (Arhtiyas) on Thursday, called on farmers to bring only dry paddy with 17% or lower moisture content to the grain markets (mandis) to ensure a smooth procurement process starting September 16. This directive aims to prevent operational challenges during the season.
Jain stated that combine harvesters will only be allowed to operate between 10 am and 6 pm to ensure smooth season. He added that the administration will take strict action in case of violation of these guidelines and combines will be seized.
