Rohtak, September 24, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta urged the district residents to plant more trees to tackle the challenges of increasing pollution and global warming. Trees are our lifeline. They are the biggest source of oxygen and play a vital role in controlling pollution.
He was addressing the gathering after planting saplings in the Green Belt of Haryana Urban Development Authority during a program organized by the Forest Department. The program aimed to spread awareness in society about environmental protection and to increase greenery. He said that tree plantation is our collective responsibility, and every citizen should participate in it. If each person plants at least one sapling every year and takes care of it, society will benefit with greenery, clean air, and a healthy environment.
Present at the event were Deputy Conservator of Forests Sunder Sambharya, other forest officers and staff, as well as residents of nearby colonies. Retired Railway employee Mukesh Sharma and Harmanjeet honored the chief guest with a turban. The program generated enthusiasm among environmentalists and forest friends, and everyone participated in the plantation.
In his address, the Deputy Conservator of Forests highlighted that besides tree plantation, small steps like water conservation, saving energy, and reducing the use of plastic can help build a clean and green earth. Along with the plantation, the Forest Department also distributed fruit-bearing and shady saplings to the people.
