DC Sachin Gupta urges Citizens to Fully Cooperate in Census Enumeration Drive

Rohtak, May 1, 2026: The District Administration, Rohtak, has launched the door-to-door survey under the Digital Census exercise, with Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta appealing to citizens to extend full cooperation to enumerators and provide accurate information.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that census data forms the backbone of national planning, guiding policy decisions, welfare schemes, and infrastructure development. He urged citizens to participate actively and responsibly in this critical nation-building exercise.

The census exercise has commenced from May 1, with the first phase focusing on house listing.

* Each enumerator has been assigned approximately 150 households
* Teams are conducting door-to-door surveys across urban and rural areas
* Data is being collected using a digital system for accuracy and efficiency

During the house listing phase, basic household details are being recorded, including Type of house (kutcha/pucca), Number of rooms and Household size and basic amenities.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that more detailed demographic information will be collected in the subsequent phase. Reassuring citizens, DC Sachin Gupta clarified that all information collected will remain strictly confidential, data will be used only for statistical and developmental purposes and the census process has no linkage with any other verification exercise, including SIR.

He urged citizens not to believe or spread misinformation regarding the census. The Deputy Commissioner directed enumerators and officials to:

* Ensure accuracy and completeness of data
* Conduct surveys with professionalism and integrity
* Maintain citizen-friendly interaction during field visits

Keeping in view the prevailing summer conditions, citizens have been requested to:

* Cooperate with survey teams during visits
* Provide correct and complete information
* Facilitate smooth and timely completion of the exercise

“Accurate census data ensures better planning and inclusive development for all,” the Deputy Commissioner said.
