DC Sachin Gupta pays tributes to the martyrs at the State-level War Memorial
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that a soldier never truly retires, as his contribution to the nation’s security and development continues throughout his life. He was addressing a gathering on the occasion of the 10th Armed Forces Veterans Day, organised at the Hall of Fame, State-level War Memorial, MDU, Rohtak.
Rohtak, January 14, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that a soldier never truly retires, as his contribution to the nation’s security and development continues throughout his life. He was addressing a gathering on the occasion of the 10th Armed Forces Veterans Day, organised at the Hall of Fame, State-level War Memorial, MDU, Rohtak.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner honoured army veterans by presenting them with Bravery Awards, recognising their courage, dedication, and distinguished service to the nation. Earlier, DC Sachin Gupta, along with veterans and officials, offered floral wreaths at the State-level War Memorial and paid solemn tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country.
Interacting personally with the veterans, the Deputy Commissioner assured them that the district administration stands firmly with serving soldiers, ex-servicemen, and families of martyrs, and every possible assistance will be extended to them. He extended warm greetings to all veterans on Armed Forces Veterans Day and conveyed best wishes on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, wishing them a healthy, prosperous, and long life.
The Deputy Commissioner announced that the district administration will soon launch a toll-free helpline number, through which serving soldiers, ex-servicemen, and their family members will be able to directly communicate their issues to the administration. He assured that all such matters will be addressed on a priority basis.
Highlighting the vision of Developed India by 2047, DC Sachin Gupta called upon youth and veterans alike to actively contribute towards nation-building. He emphasised that channelising the energy of youth in a positive direction would play a crucial role in achieving this national goal. He also informed that necessary steps are being taken by the district administration, in coordination with the Municipal Corporation, for the proper maintenance and upkeep of the State-level War Memorial.
On this occasion, District Soldier and Paramilitary Welfare Officer Wing Commander Gaurika Suhag welcomed the Deputy Commissioner and the veterans. She said that, as per the Deputy Commissioner’s directions, the welfare office has initiated a new outreach programme under which teams are visiting villages to identify and resolve issues faced by serving soldiers, ex-servicemen, and families of martyrs at the earliest.
Several senior military officers, veterans, representatives of welfare associations, and families of soldiers were present and paid floral tributes to the martyrs, reaffirming collective respect and gratitude for their supreme sacrifice.
