DC Sachin Gupta Pays Floral Tributes at State War Memorial on 55th Vijay Diwas; Calls Upon Youth to Join Armed Forces
On the occasion of the 55th Vijay Diwas, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta, paid floral tributes at the State-level War Memorial located at MDU, and honoured the supreme sacrifice of the nation’s martyrs.
Rohtak, December 16, 2025: On the occasion of the 55th Vijay Diwas, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta, paid floral tributes at the State-level War Memorial located at MDU, and honoured the supreme sacrifice of the nation’s martyrs. He also visited the Martyrs’ Plaque, which bears the names of soldiers who laid down their lives in major wars and military operations, including the 1962 Indo-China War, the Indo-Pakistan Wars of 1965 and 1971, the Kargil War of 1999, and operations such as Blue Star, Meghdoot, Pawan, Rakshak, and others.
Paying homage to the valour and sacrifice of the Armed Forces, the Deputy Commissioner said that Indian soldiers demonstrated extraordinary courage and military excellence in the 1971 war, leading to the liberation of Bangladesh from oppression and enhancing the prestige of the nation. He extended warm greetings to citizens on Vijay Diwas, stating that the freedom of Bangladesh stands as a lasting testament to the bravery, discipline, and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces.
DC Sachin Gupta, accompanied by District Sainik and Para Military Welfare Officer Wing Commander Gaurika Suhag, ex-servicemen, and district officials, offered floral tributes at the memorial. A police contingent presented a ceremonial salute with reversed arms, accompanied by a mourning tune, as a mark of respect to the fallen heroes.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted that Haryana has a distinguished legacy of contributing a large number of brave and dedicated youth to the Armed Forces. He said that the youth of the state regard service to the nation and protection of its borders as a matter of pride and honour. Referring to the recently organised Agniveer recruitment rallies in Rohtak, he noted that youth participated in large numbers across various trades, reflecting strong enthusiasm for joining the Armed Forces.
Calling upon the younger generation to draw inspiration from the lives of martyrs, Shri Gupta urged them to come forward in greater numbers to serve the nation through the Armed Forces and strengthen the unity and integrity of the country. He said that while the loss of a martyr can never be compensated, it is the collective responsibility of society and administration to stand firmly with the families of the fallen. He assured that the district administration remains fully committed to prioritising and addressing the issues of ex-servicemen and the families of martyrs, and to extending all possible assistance to them.
On the occasion of Vijay Diwas, several ex-servicemen, including Colonel Rajender Suhag, Colonel Sanjeev Dahiya, Colonel Sandeep Nayan, Wing Commander Gaurika Suhag, Captain Jagbir Malik and many other veterans, paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs at the State War Memorial.
