DC Sachin Gupta orders a Sub-Division Level Committee for Drainage, Monitoring, and Review
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta has issued orders to constitute a three-member committee at the sub-division level under the chairmanship of the SDM, which will include the concerned SDO (Irrigation) and the concerned BDPO as members. This committee will jointly plan, monitor, and review drainage works. It will also ensure the identification of damages, restoration of basic facilities, and coordination with departments and stakeholders. All officers have been directed to treat this work as a priority and ensure strict compliance.

Rohtak, September 8, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta has issued orders to constitute a three-member committee at the sub-division level under the chairmanship of the SDM, which will include the concerned SDO (Irrigation) and the concerned BDPO as members. This committee will jointly plan, monitor, and review drainage works. It will also ensure the identification of damages, restoration of basic facilities, and coordination with departments and stakeholders. All officers have been directed to treat this work as a priority and ensure strict compliance.
According to the orders issued by the Deputy Commissioner, the functions of the sub-divisional level committee will include ensuring effective drainage as per local conditions through joint coordination with the Irrigation Department and Panchayat Department, adopting a consultative approach that involves all stakeholders such as departments, panchayats, local representatives, and community members, so that effective and locally suitable measures can be implemented. The concerned departments will be activated to conduct on-site assessments and ensure that pumps, drains, and manpower are functioning properly so that accumulated water can be drained in time.
As per the orders issued by DC Sachin Gupta, the Irrigation Department will act according to the level of drains and ensure their strength and continuity so that there is no obstruction in flow and drainage, and main drains do not get filled. In case of any resistance or obstruction, as a last resort, duty magistrates may be appointed, and police force may be deployed to ensure smooth execution of works.
According to the orders issued by the Deputy Commissioner, any damages caused in the villages will be identified and verified, and compensation cases will be filed on the concerned platform in a time-bound manner. Additionally, affected villages will be provided with drinking water, connectivity routes, and other essential civic amenities. Proper records of the work carried out will be maintained, and regular progress reports will be sent to the Deputy Commissioner’s office for review and further action. For permanent and sustainable solutions to floods, water logging, and related issues, long-term projects and structural measures will be suggested by the concerned departments.
