DC Sachin Gupta inspects water drainage works in about half a dozen villages of Meham block; orders to Prepare Open Drain Projects within 10 days
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta inspected the water drainage work in various villages of Meham block and directed the officers to prepare open drain projects within 10 days to provide a permanent solution to the water logging issue, ensuring that such a situation does not arise in the future.
Rohtak, November 12, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta inspected the water drainage work in various villages of Meham block and directed the officers to prepare open drain projects within 10 days to provide a permanent solution to the water logging issue, ensuring that such a situation does not arise in the future. He issued instructions to charge-sheet Surjeet Singh, Sub-Divisional Officer, Public Health Department, Meham, for negligence regarding the accumulation of dirty water in the water tank of Samman village. The Executive Engineer was directed to ensure proper arrangements for clean drinking water supply to the villagers.
DC Sachin Gupta, along with SDM Meham Mukund Tanwar, DRO Pramod Chahal, officers from the Irrigation Department, UHBVN, Development & Panchayat Department, and Revenue Department, inspected the water drainage situation in the villages of Bahlba, Bhaini Chandrapal, Bhaini Surjan, Samman, Bhaini Mato, Bhaini Maharajpur, and Bhaini Bhairon. He directed that water drainage from all fields must be completed within 10 days. The DC urged villagers to cooperate with the administration in this process to enable timely sowing of crops. He also instructed the Irrigation Department to install additional pump sets wherever necessary.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the SDM Meham to deploy staff from the Revenue, Irrigation, and Police Departments on a 24-hour duty roster to ensure uninterrupted drainage operations. He emphasized that no individual should obstruct the drainage work and that temporary trenches should be constructed with villagers’ cooperation to ensure quick dewatering. The UHBVN officers were instructed to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the affected villages during November and to provide electricity supply in Samman village as per the Mhara Gaon, Jagmag Gaon scheme.
DC Sachin Gupta further instructed the officers to ensure early drainage from all agricultural fields, keeping in mind the natural flow of water. He directed that any blocked culverts be opened and legal action be taken against anyone obstructing natural flow. He also ordered the drainage of dirty water from the pond in Samman village.
Those present included Mahant Satish Das, BDPO Mukul Dahiya, Tehsildar Ravi, X.En. (Irrigation) Rajesh Bhardwaj, SDOs Sujeet and Prem Singh, District Councillor Amit Rangi, local sarpanches, senior officers, and other dignitaries.
