Rohtak, February 23, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta emphasized that, in addition to crop loans, banks must proactively extend credit to eligible beneficiaries under other government schemes, so that agriculture and allied sectors receive comprehensive financial support. He said that diversification of credit is essential to strengthen farmers’ income and promote sustainable rural livelihoods.

The Deputy Commissioner was chairing the district-level meeting of the Technical Committee at his camp office to review credit flow and finalise the Scale of Finance for the year 2026–27 for agriculture and allied sectors. During the meeting, it was decided to forward the approved recommendations to the State Level Technical Committee for final approval, enabling smoother access to institutional finance for farmers, dairy farmers, fish farmers, beekeepers, and other beneficiaries.

The Deputy Commissioner noted that the Rohtak Central Cooperative Bank Limited is providing crop loans to farmers through PACS at zero percent interest, which has significantly strengthened the financial position of farmers. He directed officials to ensure that the benefits of banking services are not limited only to crop loans, but are also extended under schemes related to animal husbandry, fisheries, horticulture, beekeeping, and other allied activities.

He stressed that promoting such allied sectors alongside traditional agriculture will help farmers diversify income sources, reduce risk, and enhance overall economic resilience. The decisions taken in the meeting are expected to give fresh momentum to the holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors in the district.

The meeting was attended by General Manager Suresh Pal, Deputy Director Agriculture Dr. Surender Singh, DDM NABARD Mohit Yadav, LDM Mahabir Prasad, District Fisheries Officer Asha Hooda Ahlawat, District Horticulture Officer Dr. Madan Lal, KVK DESM Meenakshi Sangwan, SDO Animal Husbandry Sandeep Siwach, and other concerned officers.
