Rohtak, May 2, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta has called upon agriculture students to prepare village-level case studies aimed at increasing farmers’ income, with a focus on identifying best agricultural practices and practical solutions for cost reduction and productivity enhancement.

The Deputy Commissioner was interacting with students of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, currently undergoing field-based internships in Rohtak district.

Around two dozen students, working in groups, have been conducting field visits across villages over the past two months.

The Deputy Commissioner directed each group to prepare a comprehensive report on best agricultural practices in their assigned village, identify innovative methods to increase farm income and suggest practical measures to reduce input costs.

Students have been advised to incorporate:

* Crop patterns and diversification strategies
* Soil health and groundwater quality assessment
* Irrigation practices and input efficiency
* Farmer challenges and field-level solutions

He emphasized that crop selection should be aligned with soil conditions and water availability to ensure sustainability.

Highlighting the importance of diversification, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged students to:

* Suggest alternatives to traditional cropping patterns
* Promote high-value and climate-resilient crops
* Support farmers in adopting scientific and sustainable practices

Students informed that they are:

* Visiting villages regularly in groups
* Interacting directly with farmers
* Collecting data on crops, seeds, inputs, and irrigation
* Providing basic awareness on improved practices

All student groups have been directed to complete their field studies and submit detailed reports within two weeks.

The Deputy Commissioner said, “Ground-level research combined with scientific insights can significantly improve farm outcomes. These case studies will help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and field realities.”
