DC Ludhiana Varinder Sharma reviews development projects

Ludhiana, June 20, 2020: Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Sharma today reviewed the progress of various development projects of district Ludhiana. A meeting in this regard was held in his camp office, here, which was attended by MC Additional Commissioner-cum-CEO Ludhiana Smart City Ltd Mr Sanyam Aggarwal, ADC (General) Mr Amarjit Singh Bains, ADC (Jagraon) Mrs Neeru Katyal Gupta, SDM (West) Mr Amrinder Singh Malhi, besides others.
    The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of hi-tech cycle valley at village Dhanansu, upcoming international airport at Halwara, Delhi-Katra Expressway, Budha Nullah rejuvenation project, besides projects under the Ludhiana Smart City Ltd.
    Mr Sharma informed that the Punjab government is coming up with Hi-Tech Cycle Valley in an area of 380 acres of land at village Dhanansu, out of which 100 acre land had already been allotted to M/s Hero Cycle Limited. He said that to provide uninterrupted power supply to this cycle valley, 30 acres of land has been allotted to PSPCL for setting up of 400KVA Sub-station, the work of internal development of remaining 250 acres i.e. concrete roads, storm drains, sewerage system, electrical trench, water supply network has been started at site and will be completed soon, construction of concrete approach road and High Level Bridge over Buddha Nullah is in progress.
    He informed that the 161.2703-acre land required for the construction of this the civil terminal has already been acquired and Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) has taken possession of the said land. He said that they would try to get the construction of runway completed on priority basis along with the construction of the terminal building so that the international flights can start operating from here soon.
    He also directed the PWD officials to start the work on construction of boundary wall of the acquired land at the earliest. He also that no laxity in the delay of projects. He said that he would be monitoring the development projects himself.
