Ludhiana, January 2, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Friday lauded Shubham Wadhwa, a distinguished para table tennis international player from Sham Nagar, Ludhiana, for his outstanding achievements in the sport and for bringing immense laurels to the country and Punjab.
A multiple-time national gold medalist, Shubham has secured several medals on the international stage, including a silver medal at the ITTF World Para Challenger in Egypt (November 2025) and recent successes in national ranking championships.
Congratulating Shubham in his office, the Deputy Commissioner stated that Shubham's journey is truly inspiring. Overcoming immense challenges with unwavering determination, courage, and perseverance, Shubham has not only excelled on the table but have become a beacon of hope for countless others, Jain stated and added that memorable performances of Shubham have made the nation, Punjab, and Ludhiana immensely proud. He exemplifies that no obstacle is insurmountable when fuelled by passion and hard work. 
DC Jain extended heartfelt best wishes to Shubham for his preparations for the Asian Para Games 2026 and Paralympics 2028, assuring him of every possible support from the district administration.

The DC also highlighted that Shubham is already serving as the PWD district icon, effectively spreading awareness about voting rights among persons with disabilities.
