Dharamshala, May 9, 2025: Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa has urged citizens not to pay heed to rumours and instead rely on official sources for any information regarding the current situation. In case of any doubt, people can contact the toll-free emergency helpline at 1077.
Speaking in Dharamshala, DC Bairwa emphasized the importance of adhering to administrative instructions to prevent any untoward incidents. He specifically appealed to social media users and page administrators to refrain from sharing unverified information that could cause panic or confusion.
“For accurate updates, citizens should follow the official pages of DC Kangra and SP Kangra. All essential instructions will be communicated through these platforms,” Bairwa stated, assuring the public that the administration is fully committed to ensuring their safety.
He further informed that a Civil Defense Plan has been prepared for the district, including a directive to identify and train 1% of the population in each Panchayat as volunteers. These volunteers will support emergency response efforts in special circumstances.
The DC also announced plans to install sirens at the sub-divisional level to provide timely alerts during emergencies. Departments such as Health, Fire Services, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been assigned specific roles under the Civil Defense Plan to ensure coordinated and effective implementation.
