DC Kangra orders school closures due to intense heat wave

Dharamshala, May 24, 2024: As intense heat wave conditions prevail in the plain areas of Kangra, there is a significant risk to public health. The India Meteorological Department has also forecasted continued heat wave conditions in the coming days. In response, DC Kangra, Hemraj Bairwa, exercising his powers under Sections 30 and 33 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, has ordered the closure of all government and private schools in the Sub Divisions of Indora, Fatehpur, Jawali, and Nurpur in district Kangra on May 25th, 2024, for the welfare of the general public.
