Ludhiana, May 8, 2025: In a proactive step, Deputy Commissioner Mr Himanshu Jain, IAS, has announced the closure of all schools (government and private) across Ludhiana district on May 9 and 10, 2025.

The Deputy Commissioner also urged citizens to exercise restraint and avoid panic buying, emphasizing that the district administration is fully prepared to manage any emergency. He reassured the public that there is no need for fear, as Ludhiana’s administration is well-equipped with robust emergency response systems and ample stocks of essential goods and commodities.

He said that all the departments have been alerted and emergency response systems have been put in place. He said that a 24x7 dedicated control room has also been set up in DC office.

DC Jain highlighted that all departments are on alert and working in close coordination with relevant authorities to ensure seamless operations. He called on residents to remain calm, make thoughtful purchasing decisions, and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to maintain order and safety.
